About Us

Our history

Welcome to Pegcity Steppers Running/Walking Club, a group of fitness enthusiasts who come together to run, jog or walk as a team. Our goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage our members to stay active. We welcome people of all levels, from beginners to seasoned athletes,  we offer a supportive and encouraging environment to help you achieve your fitness goals. Whether you're training for race, looking to get started on your fitness journey,  or just want to have fun while staying active, Pegcity Steppers  is the perfect community for you.


Pegcity Steppers commenced on January 5, 2020 with a group of young professionals  wanting to stay active and encourage each other during the long cold winter months. The group, which was founded by Shana Goodridge started out as a walking group with about  4-5 members  of various fitness levels.

At Pegcity Steppers, we believe movement and community go hand in hand. Our programs are designed to bring people together, inspire activity, and support overall wellness. Our programs are targeted towards women, newcomers, youth and anyone wanting to live an activity lifestyle.

 Our Mission is to encourage people who live a relatively  sedentary lifestyle  to lead a more healthy lifestyle and to encourage  and promote the visibility of BIPOC runners/walkers in the running community here in Winnipeg.

We meet on Saturday mornings at  7:30 am in-front of travel Manitoba at the forks


Most Definitely, all paces are welcomed. We encourage you to run your own race and go at your pace. If you are walking, jogging, running all paces are welcomed. We also have a group of walkers, you can start there are work your way up to running.


We have groups that run/walk both 3km and 5km around various communities in the city.



Absolutely Not! Although one of our vision is to increase the visibility of more BIPOC runners and or walkers here in Winnipeg;  the group is open to everyone.  If you are looking to get started on your fitness journey and you are looking for a supportive group of people to join; we are here to encourage  you to keep it moving.
